Business Change Project Manager

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Business Change Project Manager to join our PMO team as we provide leadership over complex internal and change projects, to enable our business to deliver cutting-edge machine learning technology to our customers.

This is a great opportunity to work with a team that takes pride in providing great leadership over projects that ensures we achieve our strategic objectives and empowers our teams to perform at their best. This role will not only manage the key strategic projects for our business, but also support efforts to build great Business Change practices and methodologies within this newer area of our business. You will work with stakeholders at all levels of the business both collaboratively and in reporting progress on our strategic objectives.

The PMO team are a collaborative and supportive team of leaders, continually looking for ways to enhance the company and proactively get involved in solving problems. This is an opportunity to use your skills and experience to help us make real change which improves the way we work, ultimately having a positive impact for Featurespace, our people and our customers.

This role will be based in our Cambridge office where you will closely with teams from across the entire business to drive a wide variety of change projects. Occasional travel to other Featurespace office locations may be required in order to collaborate with a wide variety of stakeholders.

Day to Day

In your role as Business Change Project Manager you will be responsible for the oversight and delivery of Business Change projects across Featurespace. Helping the business achieve its goals by Leading transformation, achieving strong project outcomes through effective Project Governance, and driving team collaboration. Applying Business Change principles to bring everyone at Featurespace on the journey of change to experience the benefits of the project outcomes.

For every project you lead, you will be project managing both the Business Change aspects as well as the function(s) undergoing the transformation (e.g. IT, Engineering, Product, Delivery etc.)

  • Providing Leadership across functions to ensure collaboration, innovation within our projects to achieve our business objectives and delight our internal stakeholders
  • Project Governance is effectively applied on all projects to ensure we deliver a quality outcome, on time, in budget, preventing risks from occurring and giving all stakeholders and staff clear communication
  • Applying principles of Business Change to bring all staff on the journey of change, engaging in the project and realising the benefits of the outcomes across the business.

About you

Must have

  • Experience working on Business Change Projects inside of a technology-based organisation
  • Change management experience
  • Understanding of delivering software within a global organisation
  • Determined and persistent driver of project activity & ‘can-do’ attitude
  • Uses initiative and takes responsibility for tasks to ensure aims are achieved
  • Ability to work flexibly, both independently and as part of a team
  • Identifies, addresses & resolves conflicts between individuals/interest groups
  • Understands the strategic impact of business change and anticipates business needs and proposes alternative solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple concurrent projects and prioritise appropriately
  • Good knowledge of PMI, Prince 2 and Agile required in order to deliver internal approaches
  • Strong proficiency with project management software such as Microsoft Project, as well as other collaborative tools such as SharePoint, Microsoft Office Suite and Slack
  • Demonstrates leadership in a team, using own initiative to solve problems and is highly proactive in their approach to their teams and customers
  • Ability to communicate well internally, adapting fluidly to different audiences – ranging from highly technical personnel to non-technical business owners; and from SMEs to C-Suite
  • Able to build relationships internally with focus on building trust and delighting stakeholders
  • Solid business acumen and understanding of a company’s financial practices and how projects impact/interact with these

Great to haves

  • Previous experience working in the Finance/Fraud industry and a base understanding of core industry knowledge preferred
  • Some project management qualification or accreditation preferred. E.g. PMP or Prince 2
  • Business Change accreditation on any methodology useful but not mandatory
