In your role as Head of Payments Business Unit you will help us achieve our goals and deliver success on behalf of our customers by:

  • Clearly defining and owning the vision and strategy for what we do around payments fraud, covering all elements of Account-to-Account fraud including Scams / APP, Account take over, mule accounts and Zelle transactional fraud
  • Demonstrating a true passion to fighting fraud and financial crime, with a particular focus on leading the Payments Business Unit to fulfil our mission to make the world a safe place to transact
  • Leading and motivating a cross functional team to set and execute the Payments vision and strategy by taking a data-led approach to ensure Featurespace’s market positioning as the only global technology provider to fight financial crime effectively. This will be achieved through a mixture of understanding customers, prospects, market regulation and the technology already inside Featurespace to ensure perfect market fit for your solution
  • Have budget responsibility for the Payments including new customer wins, TCV, ARR, Expansion, Retention, Renewal and NPS metrics. Ensure data driven investments are made into growing the Payments to maximize the return against Featurespace and the Payments strategy
  • Represent and evangelize Featurespace’s Payments internally and to the market, media, industry, investors, prospects, partners and resellers

This role can be based in either our Cambridge or London office.

Day to Day

Strategy and Vision

  • Design, execute and refine an ambitious 5-year growth business plan for the Payments unit and contributes positively to the leadership and direction of Featurespace
  • Lead and motivate a cross functional team including, Marketing, Product Managers, Product Owners, Design, Subject Matter Experts, Engineering, Data Science
  • Work with Senior Management to set yearly growth and cost budgets and work within these
  • Collaborate with product management on Payments vision, strategy roadmap definitions, communication, refinement and execution

Team Leadership

  • Lead, support, motivate and a united Payments team to deliver to business growth and create the next generation of leaders, hand in hand with their functional line managers
  • Foster communication and collaboration amongst the team at a global level ensuring alignment, engagement and operational effectiveness and efficiency to deliver outstanding results, fast
  • Support/coach teams across opportunities to ensure value is added at each client interaction and opportunities are progressed to next stage

Branding and Marketing

  • Collaborate with marketing to build Featurespace’s brand in the Payments market including PR, digital marketing, events and awards
  • Ensure that the sales team is armed and trained with up to date and high quality sales collateral and presentations that demonstrate Featurespace’s differentiation
  • Ensure the Risk Hub Portal maintains and up-to-date and accurate documentation for the Payments
  • Speak to press/media, present at industry events and publish thought leadership pieces
  • Potential to matrix manage a dedicated resource in marketing for Payments

Business Development and Operations

  • Lead major sales pitches and build strong relationships with prospects and clients
  • Define go-to-market strategies and business processes across regions collaborating with product management to ascertain product market fit
  • Monitor commercial operation and forecasting to deliver to quarterly targets
  • Provide commercial and technical consultancy within Featurespace to evangelize to those that are customer facing the power of what Featurespace can do in Payments to create a wider sphere of knowledge outside of just the Payments team
  • Maintain a close relationship with key customers to ensure ongoing product market fit / satisfaction

Product, Data Science, Engineering and Delivery

  • Collaborate and agree the product strategy for the Payments business unit working with product management
  • Review and monitor progress against Payments roadmap to achieve the Payments strategy
  • Foster innovation and ensure the Featurespace platform stay ahead of the competition
  • Support the delivery function post contract signature to ensure issues are solved and success is celebrated by maintaining a strong relationship with client stakeholders and internal delivery teams

About you

Must haves

  • Current knowledge of the Financial Services, Payment Processor and FinTech industry, especially within Payments, including regulatory environment
  • Experience working within the industry in an international growth leadership role
  • Experience managing teams with strong leadership skills
  • Demonstrable Business Planning/Strategy experience
  • Be an Industry leader – comfortable with public speaking, as well as to the media
  • Strong technical, analytical and commercial background
  • Be a creative thinker – able to demonstrate an ability to create and execute plans
