Procurement Assistant Apprentice

The Opportunity

This role will be key in developing process and will make a real impact on the team as they support our business at a key point in Featurespace’s growth.

We’re looking for someone who has a passion to learn the foundations of a Procurement function whilst studying towards a qualification. This is a varied role on a team, who have a wealth of experience and a range of skills that they will use to support you through your journey. We are based out of our Cambridge office and come in regularly, so we’re looking for someone happy to work from the office 2-3 days a week to support face-to-face learning.

The course we’ve identified require 16-17 months of learning and once qualified, we aim to retain someone in a full-time permanent role on the team. This apprenticeship will be for a Level 3 Procurement and Supply Assistant course, studied through CIPS. The salary for this role will be £18,000 per annum.

Day to Day

  • Be responsible for day to day purchasing tasks as part of a team
  • Validate Purchase Requisition demand and raise Purchase Orders for items generated via Sage Intacct & Amazon Marketplace
  • Support the business with any queries regarding the P2P process
  • Act as a point of contact for P2P process education
  • Process order acknowledgements – enter data on system, check details match Sage Intacct, investigate discrepancies
  • Monitor late deliveries and chase suppliers for acknowledgements and lead times
  • Support the business with Goods receipt requirements for deliveries within Sage Intacct
  • Supplier/Contract Management
  • Validate and administer the new supplier process as required from the business
  • Maintain accurate supplier data on Sage Intacct
  • Maintain the contract register and ensure the business manage contracts effectively
  • Liaise with suppliers regarding price, availability, and lead times
  • Adhere to company standards i.e. Environmental, Social and Governance, Anti-Bribery and Cyber-Security
  • As and when required support the processing of company credit card receipts & employee expenses
  • Assisting with balance sheet reconciliations and monthly journal posting

About you

  • Maths and English GCSE’s at Grade C/4 or equivalent. Any Purchasing qualifications or understanding of Purchasing concepts will be an advantage, but they aren’t essential
  • Ability to organise and prioritise workload with a proactive and enthusiastic attitude, and able to multi-task effectively with a right first-time approach
  • A confident and clear communicator to a wide range of stakeholders
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word)
