Project Coordinator

The Opportunity

In your role as a Project Coordinator for the Engineering Operations Team, you will help us achieve our goals and deliver success on behalf of our customers.

You will be a key team player working at an operational level. Coordinating and planning activities between different departments and communicating with stakeholders of various levels. You will help develop and drive the processes and activities that will enable our department to grow from strength to strength, playing a vital part in setting us up for success through detailed planning and tracking of important pieces of work.

Responsible for helping internal teams manage workflows and deliver to tight deadlines, you’ll track progress within the teams and pushing projects forward, keeping communication open and frequent, and administering the structures and operations that will drive the department towards delivering high-quality code and to schedule.

Day to Day

  • Coordinating and facilitating planning meetings to aid our operational and development teams in strategizing an approach to backlog items of work. Encouraging prioritisation and a step-by-step approach
  • Driving plans forward and reporting on progress activities across multiple streams of work
  • Tracking current items in progress and ensuring a structured sequence of activities is planned and adhered to
  • Managing and communicating with stakeholders across the business, ensuring plans and priorities are kept up to date and reported on
  • Developing productive working relationships with the wider Engineering team as we scale in order to help them align with our customer’s needs
  • Aiding in delivering and driving smooth operational processes and structures that meet our business needs
  • Supporting and driving the process for moving items of work through the software development lifecycle in a manageable and visible approach
  • Working closely with our team of engineers and other internal stakeholders, collaborating efforts to successfully deliver our product to our customers
  • Responsible for helping to oversee the successful completion of varied programmes of work to tight deadlines by managing a gated system
  • Assisting with sprint planning activities for the development teams and driving a more agile work approach across the department

About you

Must haves

  • Highly organised and detail-oriented with concern for high standards.
  • Proven previous experience of co-ordinating, planning, and efficiently managing work.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills capable of maintaining strong relationships.
  • Strong multi-tasking, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to take on a varied and busy workload with a proven track record for delivering.
  • Ambitious and smart, willing to learn and get up to speed quickly.

Desired Qualifications (ideal, but not essential)

  • AgilePM Foundation

Great to haves

  • Experience of ideally having worked in a software development environment.
  • Experience with planning and delivering projects.
  • Technical knowledge is not required, but a passion to learn and get up to speed with technical concepts would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of Agile concepts as well as software development methodologies or a willingness to learn.
  • Demonstrated ability in building plans from high-level requirements to a detailed schedule/backlog(s) and the ability to track monitor and control project activity across multiple locations and teams.
  • Experienced user of project planning tools (MS. Project Online…etc).
  • Experience with using ticket/work tracking tools (JIRA, YouTrack…etc).
