At Featurespace, our QA Engineers:

  • Are independent and proactive.
  • Test our cutting-edge product to identify and report issues and defects in software applications.
  • Engage with all stakeholders including developers, project managers and product owners to provide feedback and improve and perfect our product.
  • Prioritise their workload effectively and keep track of oncoming features and product development.

Our QA Engineers are not:

  • Script testers – there are no pre-written cases and design documents to follow.
  • Exclusive UI testers.
  • And most importantly, you’re an Engineer, you design the test not just execute it.

Day to Day

In your role as QA Engineer you will help us achieve our goals by ensuring we maintain the highest standards of our products.

We are looking for experienced QA Engineers with a keen eye for detail and eagerness to explore and learn new technologies.

  • Work with the Engineering team to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of our products.
  • Champion quality across all disciplines within Featurespace.
  • Participating in high-performance agile development teams focused on continual process improvement.
  • Improve team and test process quality.
  • Own the quality of features from initial design stage through to completion.
  • Reporting and managing defects through to successful resolution.
  • Work with the automation team to ensure that we have full coverage of the product.

About you

  • Significant experience with software testing.
  • A relevant university degree is a plus.
  • Ability to design real world, complex test scenarios.
  • Passion for testing, critical thinking and investigative nature.
  • Agile development environment knowledge and experience.
  • Familiarity with continuous integration tools such as Teamcity.
  • Working knowledge of defect management tools such as YouTrack.
  • Experience with front and back end testing.
  • Expertise with Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Experience with or knowledge of databases.

Personal Qualities

The work is often challenging and fast paced. As such we are looking for someone who has the following qualities:

  • An inquisitive nature, the ability to investigate issues with minimal guidance.
  • Detail-oriented with ‘outside of the box’ thinking.
  • Self-managing, the ability to prioritise your own time and workload and work independently on multiple tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written, the successful candidate must be able to convey complex ideas in a clear and precise way.
  • The confidence to have technical conversations with different Engineering teams and across various functional areas.
  • A passion for in depth learning, the ability to grasp interesting and complex technologies within a short time frame.
  • Have an excellent understanding of software quality and us able to champion quality within the business.
