Senior Data Scientist

The Opportunity

As a Senior Data Scientist, you will lead and manage the development of advanced statistical models and algorithms that infer and predict individual customer behaviours in real-time, based on retail, online and ecommerce transaction data, and contribute to improvements in our processes and processes by collaborating with engineering, product, and research teams. 

For this role we are specifically looking for candidates with multiple years of strong relevant work experience leading analytical projects and programs. If you do not yet have this experience, please consider applying for the Data Scientist role. 

Our US-based team is distributed across the country, but for this role you will ideally be comfortable coming into the Atlanta office around twice a week. If you’re interested in the role but require more flexibility, please outline your constrains in a cover letter alongside your application.

Day to Day

  • Apply analytical theory to diverse real-world problems on large and dynamic dataset
  • Lead the deployment of statistical models and algorithms for integration within Featurespace products
  • End-to-end processing and modelling of large customer data sets
  • Ensure high quality materials that feedback analytic output are delivered to customers (reports, presentations, visualizations)
  • Drive interactions with customers to understand the opportunities and constraints of their existing data in the context of machine learning and predictive modelling
  • Evaluate and improving analytical results on live systems
  • Develop an understanding of industry data structures and processes
  • Work with engineering/development teams to support and enhance the analytical infrastructure
  • Test analytical models and their integration within the ARIC platform
  • Provide and collate input into future data science strategy and product development
  • Mentor more junior members of the team as well as managing and prioritising their workload to ensure high-quality output
  • Develop expertise in the ARIC system architecture

About you

Must haves:

  • Good degree in a scientific or numerate discipline, e.g., Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Engineering, or equivalent experience 
  • Experience applying practical machine learning algorithms to real-world data 
  • Practical knowledge of fundamental machine learning concepts (feature engineering, algorithms, model evaluation, model bias, etc.) 
  • Experience leading the deployment of data-driven systems, ideally into high throughput, real-time prediction contexts
  • Proven client facing skills and an ability to communicate complex analytical concepts to a variety of audiences
  • Experience working with customers to gather requirements for complex analytical systems including analytical system objectives, data integration design, and model design
  • Ability to manage and prioritize workload for yourself and coordinate the work of a group of other data scientists on a team, ensuring internal and external deadlines are met
  • In depth knowledge of Python and familiarity with SQL
