The Opportunity

We are looking for a Senior Operations Manager to work closely with our team of 100+ talented software engineers who develop world-leading software to protect people and organizations from the rising threats of fraud and financial crime.

This is a key role in ensuring the effective functioning of the Engineering group and its integration into the wider businessThe role mixes managing relationships to stay on top of how we work today, and metrics and continuous improvement to help understand how we can be better tomorrow. 

The role provides an excellent opportunity for career development and the chance to play a key role in a successful and growing software business.  Not only will you be working within a great agile team environment, but you’ll also be helping to create software that protects others.

This role will be based from our Cambridge office, this is a hybrid role so you will ideally be comfortable coming into the office twice a week. Day to Day

The Senior Operations Manager is a key role in ensuring that our Engineering teams create high quality products aligned to the needs of the business.  The role works closely with individuals across our teams to cover three main areas: 

Planning, monitoring, and controlWorking with product and engineering teams to ensure high quality plans, tracking progress of work, managing commitments and ensuring visibility of risk. 

Processes, measures, and metricsAssessing and reviewing key processes including developing reports and data to understand status, managing change, monitoring and capturing key metrics, ensuring compliance to targets and communicating status and concerns. 

Work managementInterfacing with stakeholders across the organisation regarding requests for engineering work.  Acting as a cross-group contact and ensuring requests are prioritised and managed effectively.  Thinking “outside the box” to help resolve day-to-day challenges.

About you

As a Senior Operations Manager you are comfortable working with technical experts and have the skills and experience to balance options and achieve the best outcome for the business.  You will need to be an effective communicator who enjoys building and maintaining strong relationships across developers and key stakeholders. 

This is a flexible and proactive role and you should be comfortable moving between focus areas.  Being effective in this role requires mixing planning and tracking work, managing change , balancing and tracking competing work requests.  

We’re looking for:

  • Good working knowledge and understanding of the software development process
  • Previous experience working with teams and taking a lead role on governance, planning, monitoring and control
  • Experience in roles such as: Project Manager, Product Owner, Business Analyst, Quality Manager or Change Manager
  • Ability to extract data and create reports rapidly; familiarity with the full MS Office suite and confidence to quickly pick up and learn advanced functionality on other modern workplace tools
