Camelot praised for “proactive approach to player safety”
Alison Gardner, head of corporate responsibility at Camelot, discusses how they are working to protect their players from “potential problem play”, in Ethical Performance magazine.
After working with Featurespace for six-months, developing new ways to predict potential risky behaviour, Camelot are now permanently implementing Featurespace’s real-time adaptive behavioural analytics for Responsible Gambling. Using these new insights, Camelot can make informed decisions about at-risk players.
Featurespace’s award winning ARIC Responsible Gambling monitors player data in real-time across multiple channels, using Adaptive Behavioural Analytics to spot markers of harm that indicate a player may be ‘at risk’. It promotes a healthy player base, safer playing environment, as well as compliance with responsible gambling legislation.
Gardner commented, “What’s really exciting about Behavioural Analytics is that now we can proactively target these messages to be a tangible help to players.” Over the six-month period, with an improved understanding of the indicators of risk, Camelot has established six new effective strategies of intervention, to better protect players.
Camelot has a world-leading online platform with over eight million registered players and has been recognised for its responsible approach by the World Lottery Association with the highest level of Responsible Gaming Accreditation, as well as being one of the first organisations in the UK to achieve GamCare accreditation.
