From fake COVID-19 tracking apps with hidden malware to fraudulent emails from people claiming to be World Health Organization representatives, PJ Rohall warns about how cybercriminals are capitalizing on unsuspecting victims and their vulnerabilities. Everyone must remain vigilant when receiving communications from any organization and carefully investigate incoming messages that ask for personal information and/or forms of payment that could lead to fraud, stolen funds and other security breaches.
From Rohall: “Anytime someone is asking you to provide personal information, a payment of any sort, just look a lot more into that.”
Despite the current spike in coronavirus related attacks, he warns these threats are likely to stay even in a post-pandemic world.
