Product Owner

The Opportunity

As our Product Owner, you will work closely with Product Managers, department heads, sales, technical support, and other stakeholders to extract and translate high-level business and customer requirements into technical working documents and deliverables.

This is a hybrid role based in our Atlanta office, so you will ideally be comfortable coming into the office once or twice a week. If you’re interested in the role but require more flexibility, please speak to us!

Day to Day

  • Work with Scrum teams to define product vision, roadmap and growth opportunities and communicate with stakeholders  
  • Be the voice of the customer throughout design and build phases
  • Work with external and internal stakeholders to analyse and align needs to strategic goals and ROI 
  • Maintain and plan the product backlog to ensure alignment to stakeholder needs and business value
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and communicate vision, priorities, and progress
  • Assess value, develop cases, and prioritize stories, epics, and themes to ensure work aligns with product strategy  
  • Be an active participant in all scrum ceremonies 
  • Break down and prioritize deliverables for the Engineering team(s) through the creation of features, epics and stories
  • Be the technical subject-matter-expert on the product for all teams internally 
  • Communicate effectively and efficiently across all aspects of the product delivery  
  • Plan and coordinate product releases, considering factors such as feature dependencies, resource availability, and market timing
  • Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of the product and adjust strategies accordingly 
  • Align with architecture and software leadership on non-functional requirements and incorporate in requirements
  • Actively seek feedback and incorporate lessons learned into future product development cycles to ensure continuous improvement
  • Make informed decisions on prioritization, trade-offs and scope changes based on a deep understanding of business goals and user needs
  • Manage capacity of team through planning, forecasting work, and velocity

About you

Must haves:

  • Demonstrable experience as a Product Owner, with a passion for product development
  • Proven skills leading technical initiatives across cross functional teams
  • A solid understanding of software development processes, technologies, and architecture to facilitate effective communication with development teams and make informed decisions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication to effectively convey ideas, priorities, and product vision to diverse audiences including stakeholders, development teams, and customers
  • Skill in negotiating priorities and resolving conflicts among different stakeholders to maintain project momentum and achieve successful outcomes
  • Experience of interacting with customers, hearing their feedback and converting this into Product deliverables  
  • Create and support the development of training documents for internal and external users
  • Be curious, research, and ask questions  
  • Be result and target orientated

Great to haves:

  • Knowledge and/or interest in FinTech 
  • Proficiency in agile and scrum methodologies, with a deep understanding of how to effectively apply these principles in a software development environment  
  • Experience working with teams in multiple locations  
  • Have exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail 
  • Be a creative thinker, always thinking “how can we”
