Software Project Manager

The Opportunity

As a Software Project Manager, you will be responsible for the oversight and delivery of product focused software projects across Featurespace. Helping the business achieve its goals by supporting transformation, achieving strong project outcomes through effective Project Governance, and driving team collaboration. Applying project management principles to align everyone at Featurespace to project success. 

 You will:

  • Be responsible for driving successful outcomes of projects supporting our major software projects within the company 
  • Provide support and guidance across functions to ensure collaboration and innovation within our projects to achieve our business objectives and delight our internal stakeholders
  • Ensure Project Governance is effectively applied on all projects to ensure we deliver a quality outcome, on time, in budget, preventing risks from occurring and giving all stakeholders and staff clear communication
  • Apply principles of Project Management to align teams, engaging in the project and realising the benefits of the outcomes across the business

This is a hybrid role based from our Cambridge office. Ideally you will be comfortable coming into the office 2 -3 times per week. If you’re interested in the role but require more flexibility, please speak to us!

Day to Day

The core of the role is to be accountable and implement cross departmental projects using recognised project and change management principles in order to ensure successful delivery and optimise benefits realisation:

  • Manage the delivery of projects and associated change activities in collaboration with Featurespace stakeholders
  • Responsible for co-ordinating the management and delivery of change activities for (IT and Non-IT) projects
  • Responsible for ensuring that projects are successful in fully meeting agreed business goals
  • Apply effective Project Management of multiple business change projects concurrently for Featurespace
  • Ensure all project objectives are met through delivery of the project as per the agreed internal brief

About you

Must haves:

  • Determination and persistence to drive project activity & ‘can-do’ attitude
  • Uses initiative and takes responsibility for tasks to ensure aims are achieved
  • A willingness to work flexibly, both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to identify, address & resolve conflicts between individuals/interest groups
  • An understanding of the strategic impact of business change and anticipates business needs and proposes alternative solutions
  • Demonstrable ability to handle multiple concurrent projects and prioritise appropriately
  • Good knowledge of PMI, Prince 2 and Agile required in order to deliver internal approaches
  • Strong proficiency with project management software such as Microsoft Project, as well as other collaborative tools such as SharePoint, Microsoft Office Suite and Slack
  • Ability to communicate well internally, adapting fluidly to different audiences – ranging from highly technical personnel to non-technical business owners; and from SMEs to CSuite
  • Experience of building relationships internally with focus on building trust with stakeholders
  • Solid business acumen and understanding of a company’s financial practices and how projects impact/interact with these

Great to haves:

  • Previous experience working in the Finance/Fraud industry and a base understanding of core industry knowledge preferred
  • Some project management qualification or accreditation preferred. E.g. PMP or Prince 2
  • Project Management accreditation on any methodology useful
